On Saturday, April 25, 2009, Age & Opportunity will present the second annual Seniors Housing & Lifestyles Expo at the Winnipeg Convention Centre starting at 9:30 a.m. This event is designed with the interests of Winnipeg and area seniors, family members, community partners and neighborhood residence associations in mind. Seniors Housing & Lifestyles Expo offers the opportunity for seniors to start thinking about their future housing and personal care needs and how these needs can best be met. The goal of the Expo is to educate participants on senior housing options and support services. Thinking proactively, seniors will be able to plan for their futures before they are in a crisis situation with regard to housing.

In addition to housing information, the Expo will offer information on support services, home care services, caregiver services, financial services, Manitoba Housing info and more. Opportunities will be available to meet with a realtor to discuss the transition from single family housing to condo ownership or making the move to seniors' housing. As well, participants will find information on: how to package their homes for sale to maximize sale revenue; new developments in the current housing market; and the upcoming trends in the senior housing market Also planned for the Expo are presentations and workshops on downsizing and financial issues, along with booths offering information on seniors issues.
